Christensen, a legendary NFL analyst, passed away at the age of 72
The passing has occurred of Chris Mortensen, a reporter for the National Football League who covered football for decades and was one of the most famous reporters on television.
According to ESPN, Chris passed away early on Sunday morning. ESPN was Chris’s longstanding workplace. It is not known what has caused the loss.
Mortensen was a mainstay in ESPN’s coverage of the National Football League (NFL) for many years. He is most known for his television segments, which were referred to as the Mort Report.
Additionally to creating and performing radio singles for ESPN, Chris was often featured on the programs “Sunday NFL Countdown,” “SportsCenter,” and “Monday Night Football.” He also contributed to the network’s radio hits.
When Mortensen disclosed in 2016 that he was fighting stage 4 throat cancer, he was forced to take a break from his television career. However, in September of 2023, he decided to resign from ESPN, despite the fact that he had eventually returned to work there.
According to Jimmy Pitaro, chairman of ESPN, “Mort was universally beloved as a supportive and hard-working teammate.” Mort was highly acknowledged as a pioneer in the field. His coverage of the National Football League (NFL) was marked by great talent and enthusiasm, and he led the field for many decades. Colleagues and fans alike will miss him tremendously, and our thoughts and best wishes are with his family and friends at this time.
